Small, cheap (about $100) and elegant, if this really is the new HD DVD player add on to the Xbox 360 system, things are looking good for MS.  I particularly like that, while it doesn't match the style of the console specifically, it does have a slight book-ish look to it.

One wonders about heat distribution, though.  With all the overheating problems of the consoles as they exist today, how will this handle an additional heat-producing element AND another power supply?  We shall see.

With a spiffy gadget like this hitting the shelves sometime this summer, HDDVD will have a good jump on Blu-Ray by the time the PS3 comes out next year.  I know that Twokota will have one as soon as they hit the shelves, so I'll check it out on his system and then, perhaps, get one for myself.

I hope they sell them in the MS Company store.

Of course, I'll have to get an HDTV to go with it... Anybody have any tips for cheap, quality 36" flat screens?
