Yesterday as I drove in, I passed two news vans at the entrance to the Redmond MS Campus on 156th and NE 40th st. As I waited at the light, I counted four different passing cars who pulled onto the sidewalk and stopped, the drivers jumping out to grab huge blue balls and stuff them in their trunks, and drive on. Very strange.
When I got to my office, I looked out the window and saw that the fountains outside my window were full of similar blue balls - all with the new Windows Vista logo. By the time I got a few for myself and grabbed my camera, there was only one lonely ball left in the fountain.

There were also "Protesters" around the campus holding signs demanding the features that Windows Vista provides. It was a little confusing, but it sure brought attention to the fact that strange things were going on, and as people followed the strangeness, they found the marketing, and, with it, the message to install Vista Beta 2 and Office 2007 Beta 2. (Both are awesome, but more on that later.)
Note: Read more about these Protesters at Robert Scoble's blog.
Looking past the fountain, I see that someone has taken the time to draw to Vista logos on the concrete posts outside the cafeteria. Very impressive.

THEN upon entering the cafeteria, I see that those wacky Vista guys have somehow found a way to get the Vista logo onto cans of Lemon-Lime Talking Rain in the coolers. Cool!

It is good to see new and outside-the-box ideas coming from Windows Marketing. I wonder what's coming next?
