joystiq.com: Jon Stewart Blasts Congress Ignorance on Video Games

Gotta love YouTube - the video sharing service has made viral videos all the more ... um... sharable.

Anyway, I just adore Jon Stewart.  If he comes after you, you know you're an idiot.  In this clip, he tears apart a special hearing of the House of Representatives subcommittee on video game violence.

Personally:  I'm all for a rating system, provided that it is enforced by stores as well as PARENTS.  GTA:SA is the worst example of the worst kind of violent, amoral video game - which is precisely why it sells.  Should congress abolish violent video games?  No, but if they want to impose a more strict rating system, I'd be all for that.

Mainly because I'm over 18 and could still buy anything I want.

Time to play some more UNO with my 6-year-old.

The Moral of the Story?  Take the time to play with your kids and know what they're into.  Parents should be the dominating force in their child's development until they're shipped off to college, where they are replaced by beer.
