... and here's the kicker: If you pay the money, you won't even be seeing people play, rather you'll be watching what amounts to an infomercial.
I don't know, man. There are a lot of football-starved gamer geeks out there, but this seems like a simple grab for cash, and consumers are usually smart enough to see right through that stuff.
That said, I will be one of the guys standing in line to get this title the day it is released, for two reasons: 1) Shaun Alexander is on the cover, and you've got to support your Hawks and 2) Madden '06 was pretty good, but it obviously wasn't a next-gen title. With a year of 360 under their belts, EA should really go nuts with this one.
(Aside: I'm trading two used games for NCAA07, also an EA Sports football title, tomorrow. Watch for the review in a few weeks...)
From gamespot.com:
"[EA Sports and ESPN] announced Inside Madden NFL 07, a pay-per-view program that will debut August 4 on ESPN.com and on television. The 60-minute show will cost $19.95 and will take gamers through the process of making the game, behind the scenes of the EA Tiburon studios, and through all the new features"
I can sit here and mock it all I want, but I'll be the first to admit I'm tempted.
Nah. I'll just wait until it shows up on youtube.com.
